I’m in a season of pouring back into me.
You know how it is, mama. Motherhood requires so much that sometimes you lose yourself. Self care gets put low on your priority list when there’s mouths to feed, butts to wipe and a million places to go. Now that I’m out of the thick of it, one thing I’ve always wanted to do was to learn my color season so I contacted Taylor Prince with South Moore House of Colour, to get an Color Analysis!
If you aren’t familiar with Color Analysis, it is a method used to determine which colors best complement an individual’s natural features, such as skin tone, hair color, and eye color. It is commonly used to enhance personal style and create a harmonious look. The process typically categorizes people into seasonal palettes—Spring, Summer (that’s me), Autumn, or Winter—each with specific shades that flatter their unique undertones. By understanding which colors enhance their natural beauty, individuals can make more confident choices in clothing, makeup, and even personal branding (which is why I wanted to find out mine.)
Let me tell you, I have tears in my eyes typing this because of what she poured into me during our time together. It wasn’t just about colors or finding my perfect red lip, it was about the two hours in her chair where she made me feel important. I’m always on the other end of things. I am your number one hype girl when it comes to photography. I will lift you up, hold space for you, truly compliment you, hug you, squeal, laugh, dance… give you my undivided attention during the time we spend together, but I’ve never been on the opposite side of it.
Taylor focused on me. She complimented me and held space for me. She helped me find my colors, the perfect bronzer, and my new favorite lip color. She helped me glow not only externally (hello, summer season) but internally, too!

Not fully sold on the importance of dressing in your colors?
Just look at my own brand pictures by Jody A Photography. Black is not in the Summer Color Wheel. It’s cool, rose, and smokey colors. It’s deep navy, burgundy, and mauve. This year I opted to stick to the colors that make me glow so I picked a very rosey color palette. I think the images speak for themselves.

If you’ve been wanting to find the colors that make you shine I highly recommend Taylor for your Color Analysis… and then I highly recommend wearing those colors for a session with me to document that glow!
Thank you, Taylor, for doing so much more than a color analysis! I hope every woman gets a chance to be in your chair.
