This family, the Taylor family… What can I say to accurately put into words how much they mean to me as clients and friends? This family have been clients of mine for many years. I’ve captured engagement, wedding, maternity, and newborn, basically all the special moments and people in their lives. The weight of that is not lost on me. To be able to literally watch (cue Chris Traeger 😂) their love and family grow in front of my lens is such an incredibly amazing and humbling thing.

When discussing a location for pictures to celebrate their daughter turning one, Courtney brought up the Devon Boathouse. I’ve never had a shoot there and I’m always up for new locations, so I was excited to try to put my creative skills to the test. When their session day came around, it was right in the middle of the random Sahara dust storm that made its way to Oklahoma. Everything was already planned out so we decided to roll with it and I’m SO glad we did. Who knew that dust from the Sahara desert would give us the most perfectly diffused light at sunset. When you combine the grand architecture of the location, gorgeous light, and a beautiful, fun family, you end up with the most picture perfect session full of love and laughter.
